I am neither related to — nor acquainted with — my subject. I do not know how she occupies her time and have no biographical data about her. Her face interested me while I watched a Veterans Day parade from the sidewalk; she looked straight at me when I raised my camera, then gifted me with this clear view of her Self. A candid face I think. She might have a few eccentric habits, that is true, however we can bet they are moderate and do not interfere with her care for her family. She projects subtle and modest stimuli: shades of Navy blue everywhere but muted, inconspicuous ear adornments copied from the US Navy logo; on close inspection the ball cap she is wearing becomes a specialty item advertising the USS Theodore Roosevelt, a scrubbed and proper aircraft carrier. She is a Navy Mom, 100% through and through. To me she exudes pride, not the egocentric kind (the kind that unravels a life), but a much more healthy version.
