The Dinosaurs Are Everywhere
There are probably more dinosaur figures — ranging from modest statues to gigantic sculptures — now on display in our western states than total organisms of this kind who actually flourished and died throughout the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods of deep history. The modern representations come in metal, plaster, stone, rubber, plastic and fiberglass to name the primary mediums; and these can be found in natural history museums, at city centers, beside rural roads, in theme parks and gift shops. They can show up anywhere and as a practical matter they are uncountable. I believe the metal casting in our photograph below depicts an ancient meat-eater as he was in life. His head is the size of a large automobile. I found this giant by the side of a road standing by itself — all alone, no plaque or advertisements or explanations of any kind to answer my troublesome questions: “What is this simulation doing here, and what does it mean?”
