Young Woman With Mixed Emotions
She rides on a float in a parade and waves half-halfheartedly toward people on a crowded sidewalk. She expresses complex emotions. I did not see what prompted this look; the event appeared and disappeared too suddenly. She has observed something she despises. A combination of anger, bitterness and disgust definitely shows up on her face. However, these affects seem to amplify another, deeper and hidden painful feeling. Whatever that is — because of its power — she seems on the verge of weeping.
